Tunisia Travel Guide
On the north coast of Africa there is the country of Tunisia which borders the Mediterranean Sea. The middle of Tunisia is divided by the Atlas Mountains. This effectively causes Tunisia to have a fertile northern plain and a hotter, dryer southern region. Southern Tunisia has the start of the Sahara which is the vast desert that covers much of northern Africa.
By North American standards, Tunisia is a very small country that is squeezed between the larger countries Algeria on the west and Libya on the southeast. This is the northernmost country in Africa and is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea on the north and east. The strategic location of this country has brought it into contact with many countries that wanted control of North Africa including the Roman, Arab and Ottoman Turks.
